Same job, same workplace, different pay. Why?
Because we “don’t talk about money.” Because employers claim salaries are confidential – even though in the Czech Republic, restricting employees from discussing their pay has been illegal since June 2025. Yet the culture of silence persists. And that silence benefits exactly one side.
This isn’t a coincidence. It’s a system. And systems can be changed.
The EU adopted a Pay Transparency Directive that must be implemented into Czech law by June 2026. It will require employers to publish salary ranges in job advertisements, report on pay gaps between men and women, and actively investigate and resolve unjustified discrepancies. For the first time, the burden of proof shifts – it won’t be on you to prove you’re being underpaid, it will be on your employer to prove they’re paying fairly.
We’ll make sure the Czech implementation has real teeth – not a watered-down version that looks good on paper and changes nothing in practice.
To do that, we need to hear from you. What do you experience at your workplace? Are you paid the same as your colleagues? Do you see a salary in job ads? Does your employer address pay gaps – or just stonewall?
Tell us. It takes five minutes!
